Architekt Jan Kaplický ( FUTURE SYSTEMS ) se pečlivě věnoval tomu, aby byla knihovna funkční. A já vím, že bude fungovat velice dobře, stejně jako funguje ta naše. Jestliže má město odvahu a chce vytvořit funkční budovu pro silnou a inteligentní společnost, pomůže seskupit všechny požadavky na knihovnu tak, aby se vytvořilo místo, které je nejen vzdělávací institucí a poskytuje informační budoucnost, ale které je také pohodlným místem pro bytí.

I believe the design for the new national library will be an inspiration to scholars, students, the people of the Czech Republic, and also tourists. A building such as this has the strong potential to bring tourists to Prague, as happened and is still happening four years later with The Seattle Public Library.  I also believe the design functionally is extremely innovative and functional.  It is a library design with the flexibility to adapt with changing information technologies and library services.
